AeroPress
Forgiving, fast, and travel-proof. Hard to make a bad cup, easy to make a great one.

You'll need
- AeroPress
- Filter cap + paper
- Kettle
- Scale
- Stirrer
Step by step
- 1Set the AeroPress up inverted (numbers upside down) and add 15g of coffee.
- 2Start the timer and pour 220g of water. Stir three times.
- 3Cap it with a rinsed paper filter and wait until 1:30.
- 4Flip onto your mug and press gently over about 30 seconds — stop when you hear a hiss.
- 5Swirl and drink. Add a splash of hot water if you like it lighter.
If it tastes off
Hard to press
Grind a little coarser next time — fine grinds choke the filter.
Weak or sour
Grind finer or extend the steep to 2:00.
Muddy in the cup
Press more slowly and don't push past the hiss.
