You'll need

  • AeroPress
  • Filter cap + paper
  • Kettle
  • Scale
  • Stirrer

Step by step

  1. 1Set the AeroPress up inverted (numbers upside down) and add 15g of coffee.
  2. 2Start the timer and pour 220g of water. Stir three times.
  3. 3Cap it with a rinsed paper filter and wait until 1:30.
  4. 4Flip onto your mug and press gently over about 30 seconds — stop when you hear a hiss.
  5. 5Swirl and drink. Add a splash of hot water if you like it lighter.

If it tastes off

Hard to press

Grind a little coarser next time — fine grinds choke the filter.

Weak or sour

Grind finer or extend the steep to 2:00.

Muddy in the cup

Press more slowly and don't push past the hiss.
